- Boosts confidence and self-esteem
- Enhances perceptual motor skills
- Helps develop social skills
- Provides a measurable platform for achieving goals
- Kids become more optimistic by nature
- It’s just buckets full of fun!
Not only is ACP and its Come as You Are program therapeutic; when your kids participate in our programs the credits are transferable to their general education!

Give us a call; a highly-trained adapted physical education specialist can evaluate your child and design a program that is perfect for his or her needs. If your child has been diagnosed with a disability that impacts motor skills or that creates forms of social anxiety, traditional physical education programs may be counterproductive and even harmful. Let our certified specialists meet your child, and determine is one of our customized APE programs will enhance your child’s life and foster new found joy in water sports!
What is Adapted Physical Education?
In a nutshell, adapted physical education is developmentally appropriate education customized to best fit a unique individual’s needs. Qualified, highly trained teachers gather data and use it to customize a physical education instruction curriculum. An Individualized Education Program (IEP) defines various objective and goals written by the instructor within a framework that is measurable, monitored and evaluated based on the timeline set by the teacher. Various adaptions are set in the physical education curriculum so that each student will experience victory all within a safe and fun environment.
Some options for your child’s physical education curriculum may include:
- A one-on-one setting between the APE teacher and the student
- A custom physical education setting with teacher’s assistants
- A unique setting designed to interact with a peer group
- A standard physical education setting with peers or a teaching assistant
Be aware that APE is a federally mandated accoutrement of special education services that allocates equitable physical education experiences for students aged between 3 and 21 years of age with a disability notated as a component of the child’s special education services.
We offer THE BEST teaching which differentiates equipment, task, curriculum and environment suitable for every child or adult—this way ALL students come out as successful, happier individuals who learn while participating in physical education.
